Everything you need to manage your account online.
DStv Self Service is a suite of online tools that allows you to manage your account online. It’s available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You can use DStv Self Service to:
- View your current subscription and airtime balance, and check the status of any pending payments.
- Renew or upgrade your subscription in advance or at renewal time. You can also take advantage of promotional offers such as reward points when you renew early.
- Update personal details like contact information and payment card details for one-off transactions such as gift purchases or purchase invoices/eFTPS payments using eWallet (with users who qualify for this service).
Change bouquet.
You can only change your bouquet online. This is to ensure that you have access to the right channels and packages, as well as avoiding any unnecessary call-backs to our customer care agents.
You can change your bouquet once a month, up to 10 minutes before your next bill cycle in order for us to get new channels added onto your account and set up correctly. After this period has elapsed, additional changes must be made through an agent with DStv Self Service.
You may make a maximum of 5 changes per month (this includes adding/removing or changing subscriptions). If any more than 5 changes are made by mistake within one month then please contact our Customer Care team so that we can consider reducing any excess charges incurred through making too many changes at once!
Upgrade packages.
When you want to upgrade your package, you can use the [DStv Self Service](https://www.dstvmagic.co.za/self-service/) website or app to see all of your options.
To check if there are any special offers and upgrades available for existing subscribers, log in with your DStv username and password on the website homepage. You’ll then be able to access all of your subscription details at a glance including:
- Your current subscription(s)
- The number of decoders that are active under each subscription
- The current price for each package (including VAT)
This is also where you can see if there are any special offers or upgrades available for existing subscribers. To do this, click on ‘Upgrade’ as shown below:
Make payment.
You can make a payment using your DStv Now app or online banking. You must have an active subscription to use this feature.
To make a payment, follow these steps:

Pay your bill using the DStv Now app or online banking.
You can pay your bill using the DStv Now app or online banking.
To pay your bill with the DStv Now app:
- Launch the DStv Now app on your device.
- Select [My Account].
- Tap [Subscription].
- Select [View/Change Subscription Plan] to see all of your current plans and make adjustments if needed.
To pay with online banking:
Log in to your internet banking account and select ‘Payments’ from the menu on the left-hand side of the page under ‘Transactions’, then click on ‘Manage Payments’ at the bottom of this page – this will take you through to a list of all payments that have been made for you recently (and those set up through auto debit). Find one that is relevant to you and click on it – this will take you through a form where you can view details about when it was made, which account has been debited etc., as well as an empty box where we would usually see our reference number displayed; instead of entering any details into this section just enter [my_reference_number] (without brackets) into this box and then click on “Pay” at bottom right hand corner!
Turn on/off parental lock.
Parental Lock is a feature that allows you to restrict access to certain channels and programmes. To turn on Parental Lock, login to the DStv Self Service website or use the remote control of your set-top box. On iOS devices, you can also turn on Parental Lock from the DStv Now app.
To restrict access:
Go to Settings > All Settings > Protection > Restrictions and tap Turn On/Off Restriction. You’ll be prompted for a PIN code in order to enable or disable parental lock settings after entering an incorrect password three times in a row; this will allow you full control over what types of content are accessible through your device (for example, adult content).
Turn on/off Boxoffice.
Turn on/off Boxoffice
- Click ‘Activate Boxoffice’. This will link your account to the Boxoffice service. You will be able to view movies and TV shows on demand.
- Click ‘Deactivate Boxoffice’. This will disable your access to the Boxoffice service and turn off all paid content on your screen.
Turn on/off XtraView.
XtraView is a premium feature that adds an additional channel to your subscription. It’s available on DStv Premium, DStv Family and DStv Compact subscriptions.
XtraView is only available in South Africa. To use it, you’ll need to have the right equipment: a decoder box with the latest software update installed, an HD PVR and either an M-Net smartcard or Multichoice account details (if you’re using Multichoice). You can sign up for XtraView by contacting MultiChoice Support on 0861 106 106 or visiting their website (www.mymultichoice.co.za/xpltv), where you’ll also find more information about how it works
